Event Description

For this workshop 5-6 scientists each from ICP Vegetation and ICP Forests will meet in Birmensdorf on 12 April 2019 to discuss ideas on how to foster an improved co-operation directed at the assessment of ozone effects on forest vegetation within the UNECE Air Convention.

Workshop objectives
Identify critical points, needs and joint initiatives to advance the understanding, assessment and monitoring of ozone effects on forests within the UNECE Air Convention. Topics will include endpoints for impact assessment (growth, symptoms, defoliation); data needs and availability; approaches; possible common projects and publications.

Expected immediate outputs
(i) Roadmap for joint initiatives;
(ii) Joint workshop report, potentially leading to a joint scientific paper and/or informationbrief (to be discussed in detail at the workshop).
