Event Description

In France, forest cockchafer (Melolontha spp.) populations have increased from endemic to epidemic proportions in the last 10 years, with severe damage being recently reported in young forest stands in Picardie and Northern Alsace.

A workshop is planned on October 2-4, 2018, in Nancy, in order to share existing knowledge about the forest cockchafer and about how management practices can influence its populations. In particular, Eastern European countries have faced recurrent infestations since the 1960s, and their experience may be of high interest.

Abstracts can be submitted either in French or in English until June 30th to jeremy.cours@onf.fr All room and board for the speakers selected by the organizing committee will be provided through French Labex Arbre funding and, whenever possible, travel expenses will also be reimbursed.
